Conveniently situated on the edge of Phoenix in the heart of the Salt River Valley, Peoria is an exciting suburb that offers an endless mix of outdoor recreation and big-city fun. From hiking and biking along the city’s interconnected multi-use trail system to enjoying world-class shopping, dining and sports entertainment, there is always something thrilling to do in one of the most vibrant cities in the state. Also referred to as the “Jewel in the Desert,” Lake Pleasant stretches across 10,000 acres, offering 116 miles of shoreline and aquatic fun for the entire family. Families can rent a boat, Jet Ski or kayak at Pleasant Harbor or fire up the grill at any of the 148 campsites located at Lake Pleasant Camp Ground.
Peoria Sports Complex
The Valley of the Sun is famous for its Major League Baseball (MLB) Spring Training season, attracting 15 MLB teams and tens of thousands of tourists annually. Residents of Peoria enjoy easy access to dozens of games per year at Peoria Sports Complex, which is home to both the San Diego Padres and the Seattle Mariners. In addition to MLB’s spring training games and Arizona Summer League, the park offers year-round events, including other sporting events, concerts, art shows, car and RV shows, private events and more.
It’s always tee-time for Peoria residents, thanks to the more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Considered by many as a golf lover’s paradise, the Phoenix metropolitan area offers more than 185 golf courses, many of which are award-winning and located within minutes of Peoria. From traditional links-style to wide-open desert or winding lakeside courses, there’s a golf course for every type of golfer.
Arizona Broadway Theatre
Nothing tops live entertainment and Arizona Broadway Theatre is no exception. This beautiful performance space is a one-of-a-kind venue combining quality dining and professional theatre – at a great value.
