As the seasons transition, so do we. Time to leave winter behind and step outside to enjoy some activities in this delightful desert we call home. We’ve gathered a list of our favorites:
6th Annual Arizona Balloon Classic
January 20 – 22
Cold temperatures are no match for a day full of adventure. Fear Farm Sports & Entertainment Complex presents Arizona’s premier hot air balloon and race and festival. The event will include morning liftoffs, evening flows, live entertainment onstage, fireworks on Saturday and much more. Take the family out for the day to enjoy these exquisite balloons that will soar over the desert.
Downtown Chandler Art Walk
6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Downtown Chandler welcomes you and your family to enjoy over 35 local artists in the historic square. The Art Walk provides a fun family atmosphere and features local artists and musicians. Different art types represented include painting, photography, glass art, jewelry and much more. This is a great opportunity to not only enjoy a night out, but to also visit all of the unique establishments in downtown Chandler.
First Friday at DeSoto Central Market
5:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Looking for some hidden gem eateries? You have come to the right place! Celebrate Roosevelt Row’s monthly Art Walk on First Fridays at DeSoto Central Market. You are sure to find delicious food options, great drinks, a pop-up market, music and local artwork. With a combination of boutique eateries and a foodie-friendly environment, DeSoto’s is committed to creating a gathering place fit for all.
Off the Vine Arizona Wine Festival
11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Price: $15 – $20
Calling all adults! Join the Arizona wine industry at the Historic Steam Pump Ranch in Oro Valley for the Annual Off the Vine Arizona Wine Festival. This event will feature exclusive tastings from 20 of Arizona’s vineyards and wineries, live local music and great vendors. Enjoy some of Arizona’s wines and interact with the winemakers whose creations will amaze. Price of admission includes a glass and six tasting tickets.
Oro Valley Cruise, BBQ & Blues Festival
10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Price: $5 admission, 10 and under free
Do you have a knack for cars? Oro Valley presents the Cruise, BBQ & Blues Festival featuring more than 20 classes of antique, classic, muscle cars and trucks. Enjoy a parade of classics with live blues music, delicious grilled food, and kids activities at the Oro Valley Marketplace.
