We are experiencing weather warmer than usual which makes it the perfect excuse to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the community. Spring in Phoenix is notorious for being filled to the brim with events and this March is no different.
Here are some events that are taking place near your Maracay Homes community:
Arizona has the pleasure of hosting America’s favorite pastime prior to the baseball season starting. Peoria Sports Complex, Goodyear Park, Cubs Park are all a short drive from communities in Peoria, Goodyear and Mesa and make the perfect family outing. Check out the schedule to find out when your favorite team will be throwing its first pitch.
Gilbert Art Walk
9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturdays, March 1 and 15
45 W. Page Ave., Gilbert
Leisurely stroll through the Water Tower Plaza in downtown Gilbert and peruse the goods of local artists during this free event.
Mesa Festival of Creativity
Noon – 9 p.m., Friday, March 7 – Sunday, March 18
1 E. Main St., Mesa
Engage all the senses at this festival full of creative sights! Take part in sampler workshops, view art work and snack on food. Most activities at the festival are free, but the sampler workshops do cost a $5 fee.
Music in the Canyon
Noon – 5 p.m., Saturday, March 8
5900 N. Sabino Canyon Rd., Tucson
Get outside and enjoy a day filled with musical entertainment by the American Authors, a beer garden, food and children’s activities in the beautiful Sabino Canyon. Tickets can be purchased prior to the event online.
Old Pueblo Gran FUNdo
8 a.m. – 2 p.m., Sunday, March 9
For those not participating in the Old Pueblo Grand Prix, there is still a chance to ride in this cycling event along one of Tucson’s paths. Every mile performed in this community ride for all ages will count towards helping Tucson Move a Million.
Fourth Avenue Spring Street Fair
10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday, March 21 – Sunday, March 23
Between Ninth Street and University Boulevard on Fourth Ave, Tucson
Fourth Avenue will be lined with more than 400 arts and crafts booths, 35 food vendors, entertainment and fellow art lovers in downtown Tucson. The fair has been around since 1970 and has become on the premier street fairs in the nation.
Great American BBQ & Beer Festival
Noon – 10 p.m., Saturday, March 22
3 S. Arizona Ave., Chandler
It doesn’t get better than BBQ, beer and blues music in downtown Chandler. For $10 (children under 12 are free), attendees will sample some of the Valley’s best picnic fare and libations.
P83 Street Party
3 p.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday, March 22
16101 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria
County music star Dustin Lynch is headlining this fifth annual event that also includes music, food trucks, beer garden and local vendors.
