Since summer is almost here, it’s time to get outside and enjoy all that Arizona has to offer before the warmer months approach. Whether you’re looking for a date night or family outing, we’ve gathered a list of our favorite events going on near your Maracay home. Take a look:
Apache junction/ Gold Canyon
International Museum Day
Superstition Mountain Museum
The Superstition Mountain Museum joins 35,000 other museums around the world in celebrating International Museum Day on May 18. There is no admission fee for museum visitors, who are invited to enjoy a variety of displays and activities throughout the day.
2018 Spring Demo Derby
Watch the cars dash, smash and crash in this event meant for the whole family! In addition to the demolition derby, there will be lawn mower races and kid races. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with the derby starting at 7 p.m. Food and beverage available for purchase on site. Tickets range from $5-$10 and there are family packages available.

CinePark is a free, three-week movie series that shows recently released family friendly films, like Despicable Me 3 and Pixar’s Coco. Event-goers are invited to bring the entire family to Tumbleweed Park 90 minutes before show time for a range of activities that everyone can enjoy. The event goes from 6:30 p.m.- 10 p.m.
Downtown Concert Series

The Spring Downtown Concert Series is held at the Water Tower Plaza in the heart of Gilbert’s Heritage District. Friends and family can listen to music from a variety of genres and enjoy the various vendors that will be there.
Kids to Park Day
Goodyear Community Park
Join Goodyear in celebrating National Kids to Park Day. Bring the kids to indulge in a variety of outdoor activities that include a water balloon toss, kite flying and much more!
Wine Tasting Wednesday Cruise

Every Wednesday at 5 p.m., take a cruise and enjoy some booze. Enjoy a glass of wine while listening to live entertainment. Tickets are $6 and you can taste four different wines from local Arizona wineries. Different wine makers are featured every week and full bottles of wine are available for purchase on the dockside following the cruise.
Break at the Lake
Pleasant Harbor at Lake Pleasant
Starting at 3 p.m., event-goers can enjoy water activities and slides, food and drinks. You can also play yard games such as corn hole, giant Jenga and giant Connect Four. Adults can enjoy the cigar bar and other treats. Food bistros like Burgers Amore, ShadeTree Marketing, Cactus Corn, Mein Man, El Jefe Tacos and Mr. Martz Coastal BBQ will be present with their food trucks, serving a variety of cuisine for everyone. The family can also enjoy live music later on in the evening when Southern Country and the modern country band, Redneck Rockstars, start to perform.

Take the whole family to enjoy Phoenix Comic Fest, where fans can have a chance to meet their favorite comic creators, actors, authors and get their autograph or picture. This whole weekend is jam-packed full of events and activities for you and your family!
Mother’s Day Weekend at Old Tucson
Celebrate the women and moms in your life by bringing them to Old Tucson, where girls and women are admitted free all weekend. The family can enjoy Old Tucson’s live stunt, comedy and musical shows.
