It’s time to chase your winter blues away, because spring is here. Swing into warmer weather and enjoy some great outdoor activities. We’ve gathered a list of our favorites:

Spring Training
February 25 – April 1
Spring training is both an Arizona treasure and a tradition, and it’s no wonder why. America’s favorite pastime brings everyone together for a day full of leisure and fun. Lucky for you, Arizona is a spring training hot spot. Enjoy weekday and weekend games in the many beautiful ball parks throughout metro Phoenix and metro Tucson.

Wild West Steam Punk Convention 6
March 3 – 5
The Wild West meets science fiction and the Victorian Era in this truly unconventional convention, held at a working film studio and amusement park in Old Tucson. Join fans of the steampunk culture from around the country as they jam to live music performances, attend panels and workshops, browse vendor booths, witness fashion shows and participate in costume contests.

Tucson Festival of Books
March 11 – 12
9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Book lovers, unite! The Tucson Festival of Books celebrates authors and their works in a two-day event that promotes literacy in the community. Experience more than 300 presentations, 200 exhibits, book signings, panel discussion, food vendors and children’s and science programming, and more.

Shamrock Fest
March 17
4 p.m. – midnight
Price: $8 – $10
There’s no better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than with Chandler’s Shamrock Fest. This popular, 21+ event includes live musical entertainment, Irish dancers, bagpipe players, festive games, traditional food, themed activities and a beer garden. It’s perfect for a day out for two or a meet-up with a group of friends. Enjoy drinks in the Bagpipes & Brews craft beer lounge while experiencing traditional St. Patty’s day favorites like corned beef and cabbage, and shepherd’s pie.

Ostrich Festival
March 10 – 12
Price: $7 – $10, children under five years are free
The Chandler Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring back the 29th Annual Ostrich Festival. The festival is a community-family event featuring live ostrich races and ostrich-themed activities, spectacular food, upscale arts and crafts and much more. Come bring the entire family out for a day full of fun!

Open Air Market at the Phoenix Public Market
March 4, 11, 17 & 25
8 a.m. – noon
Join local vendors at Phoenix Public Market’s Open Air Market every Saturday for an atmosphere unlike any other. This natural gathering place celebrates both neighborhoods and the neighbors. Open rain or shine, this outdoor gathering spot is sure to please the entire family.

Downtown Chandler Art Walk
March 17
6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
This monthly event provides the perfect opportunity to get out and explore the many unique establishments in downtown Chandler, while admiring the work of local artists and musicians. Only the finest art and craft submissions are considered, ensuring you an evening of authenticity.

34th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Faire
March 11
10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Price: $8 – $10
Bring the family out for a day full of Irish fun! The Phoenix faire has three stages of Irish music, step dancing and bagpipers. Enjoy food and beverages, Irish crafts, a children’s area and much more. This fun-filled celebration will surely get you in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit.

Ride-In Movies in the Park
March 11
7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Join the city of Mesa for a free movie in the park! This month’s special feature is The Secret Life of Pets, showing at Guerrero Park. The city’s Bike & Pedestrian Program is hosting this family-filled event while encouraging families to bike or ride to the park. There is no better way to enjoy the warming temperatures of spring than an evening under the stars.

6th Street Market
March 5, 12, 19 & 26
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The weekly 6th Street Market blends art, live music and the community in the heart of downtown Tempe. Experience a beautiful day outdoors while enjoying local shopping, live music and art, delicious brunch offers and more. The market features over 30 local artisans who are sure to leave your taste buds satisfied.
