There are plenty of summer activities to take advantage of all month long. From Father’s Day lunches to family events, take a look at what’s going on near your Maracay neighborhood:
Apache junction/ Gold Canyon
Cowboys & Cuties, Father Daughter Dance
Apache Junction Parks and Recreation is hosting “Cowboys and Cuties,” a father-daughter dance to celebrate Father’s Day. Participants need to be registered by June 4 and activities include learning the 2-step, crafting and southwest-themed food. Activities are designed for fathers and daughters (4-14 years of age). Grandfathers, uncles, older brothers (18+), single mothers or any other father figure also are invited to participate.
Summer Movies at the Library
“Movies at the Library” is a free event for families to enjoy a fun, indoor activity with everyone at the local Buckeye Public Library. Families are welcome to gather at the library’s Coyote Branch to watch the feature film, which for this event will be Disney’s Coco.
Noir She Didn’t
The Murder Mystery Co. will be performing a live, public interactive murder mystery dinner show at the Spaghetti Factory at Chandler Fashion Center. A night of intrigue, deception and delicious food are on the menu for this 1920s murder mystery experience!
Taste-About Downtown Gilbert with Az Food & Wine
Enjoy a delicious evening of food and drinks in downtown Gilbert. The tasting adventure begins at Brass Tap, where participants will receive a pass for the event and continue to other bars that are all within walking distance of each other. More than 11 participating restaurants and bars – some even featuring live music — will be available for you to experience on this self-guided tour.
SplashPad Movie, Food Trucks & More
Grab a blanket and chair to enjoy this outdoor family movie night with food trucks and other activities at Goodyear Community Park. Your family, friends and pets will enjoy the non-stop entertainment that begins at 5:30 p.m. Following a kids dance party, face painting and music by D.J. Jonny, Disney’s Moana will be shown on a big screen.
Mesa Feastival Food Trucks At Pioneer Park
Every Saturday evening
Join the community in experiencing 15-25 food trucks, live music and a boutique market full of local artists and crafters. Seating is available, but families are allowed to bring their own chairs, blankets and leashed pets. Prowl And Play At The Phoenix Zoo: Superheroes Unite
Superhero Prowl and Play features fantastic waterslides and water features, character meet-and-greets with children’s favorite superheroes, a DJ dance party, animal discoveries and more. This event is perfect for the whole family to enjoy while taking a trip to the Phoenix Zoo!
Mexican Food Festival
Tucson is home to the most authentic Mexican food north of the border and on Father’s Day weekend, you and your family can have a bite at this festival celebrating Visit Tucson’s Best 23 Miles of Mexican Food in America. The event is presented by the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance partners and located at JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa.
