Don’t worry, because we’ve already found the Valley’s best holiday activities, no matter what side of town you’re on.
Here are a few 4th of July celebrations happening near your Maracay home:
Apache Junction/ Gold Canyon
Hometown Fireworks Celebration
Enjoy Independence Day with your neighbors at this family-friendly celebration, hosted by The City of Apache Junction Parks and Recreation. The Hometown Fireworks Celebration includes a little something for the whole family to enjoy, including game booths, bike and wagon decorating contests, water games and live entertainment. Eventgoers can partake in a volleyball tournament or swimming activities at the Superstition Shadows Aquatic Center, before finishing off the night enjoying the fireworks show.
Old-Fashioned Independence Day Celebration
From all-American food and drinks to live entertainment, Buckeye’s Annual Independence Day Celebration has something for everyone. A lively display of fireworks starts at 9 p.m.
The City of Chandler presents its annual July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at Tumbleweed Park. Watch the sky light up at Chandler’s largest summer event. It’s free for attendees and features many family-friendly activities, including live music and assorted food and beverage vendors.
Fourth of July Celebration
Join your friends, family and neighbors at Higley High School for Gilbert’s annual 4th of July celebration. Enjoy a selection of food, beverages and various family activities before the fireworks show begins at sundown.
Star Spangled 4th
The City of Goodyear is known for hosting fun-filled community events, including its annual Independence Day celebration at Goodyear Ballpark. This family-friendly event has something for everyone, from live music and a hot dog eating contest, to inflatable water slides, bounce houses and a fireworks spectacular. Parking and admission are free.
Arizona Celebration of Freedom
Dubbed the “coolest” Independence Day celebration in Arizona, this exciting event is free and includes live-music, games and activities, patriotic displays, a naturalization ceremony, a Southwestern fallen hero memorial, fireworks and much more. Attendees can also bring a donation of a non-perishable food item, bottled water or cash, in an effort to fill the Parade Fire Truck for The United Food Bank.
Fabulous Phoenix Fourth
Wave a flag, enjoy the fireworks show and celebrate the holiday with family and friends at the Fabulous Phoenix Fourth event, which annually attracts more than 100,000 participants. This year, the event features two stages for local entertainers and live music, a variety of food and beverage vendors, arts and crafts, interactive exhibits and a classic car display. Children will also be able to choose from a variety of activities, rides and inflatables, and a water spray zone.
Old West 4th of July at Old Tucson
Keep the spirit of the Old West alive by celebrating Independence Day at Old Tucson. Visitors will enjoy a pie-eating contest, special chuckwagon food, and Old Tucson’s regular shows and attractions. Park goers can watch the living history presentations and take tours around the numerous historic sites at the park. Tickets to the celebration and event are available here.
