Spring is officially upon us. And, where better to spend the next couple of months than in the heart of Arizona, where sunny skies, cool breezes and blooming flowers provide the perfect atmosphere for outdoor fun.
Whether you’re looking for exercise, relaxation or some fun under the sun this April, we’ve found an event in your neighborhood that the whole family can enjoy. Take a look:
Gilbert Global Village Festival
Saturday, April 8
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Free and fun for all ages, the Global Village Festival is a multi-cultural family event that showcases traditional and contemporary music, dance styles, crafts and food from countries around the world. For more information, click here.
Family Easter Celebration in south Chandler
Saturday, April 15
9 a.m. – noon
This free event at Snedigar Sportsplex provides some of the most enthusiastic Easter egg scrambles in the Valley for kids up to 9 years of age. In addition to egg hunts, there will be information booths, displays, interactive amusements and a Family Easter Basket Giveaway. Minimal charges may apply for some interactive children’s activities and photos with the Easter Bunny. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase at the cash-only event.
Chocolate Bunny 5K Walk & Run in Mesa
Saturday, April 15
7 – 10:30 a.m.
Organized to support Team RWB, a veteran’s support group that enriches the lives of veterans through physical and social activity, the Chocolate Bunny 5K is perfect for all ages and athletic types. Priced at $25 per person, the run includes a beautiful finisher medal, matching lapel pin, wristband, snacks and beverages, and other goodies with age group awards in 14 categories. Sweets & Desserts Expo in Peoria
Saturday, April 29
10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
It won’t be difficult convincing the entire family to get out to this event at Peoria Sports Complex. Dubbed the Southwest’s ultimate sweets and desserts convention, this festival features free and paid dessert samples, access to classes and demos, guest meet-and-greets, and an exclusive kids fun zone with dessert decoration, face painting, photo ops, fun and games, and much more. Tickets are priced at $8 for kids ages 4-12 and $18 for adults.
Tucson Earth Day Festival & Parade
Saturday, April 22
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Celebrate the 23rd annual Earth Day Festival at Children’s Museum Tucson, including exhibits (alternative vehicle show, solar models), a parade featuring recycled materials, music, food, and hands-on environmental activities for all ages. The event is free for the entire family.
