It’s where we formed our first friendships, played until the street lights came on, hosted lemonade stands, learned how to ride a bike, had our first picnic in the park, you name it – our neighborhoods are much more than just places we lived, they are a part of us, and in some ways, shaped who we are today.
Which is on of the reasons why choosing a place to raise a family can be a daunting task. To help make the decision easier, we’d like to introduce you to one of Arizona’s most coveted towns.

Experience the thrill of nighttime and watch Gilbert’s Riparian Preserve come alive during the holiday season. On weekends throughout the month of December, take the family on a stroll through candle-lit trails at Water Ranch lake with hundreds of luminaries, festival light displays, school choirs, carolers and other live holiday entertainment. Each night of the event, Gilbert partners with a local nonprofit to collect items for the organization, so families are encouraged to bring a donated item with them.

This fall, make Gilbert Farmers Market your Saturday morning tradition. Located in Downtown Gilbert, just west of the iconic water tower, Gilbert Farmers Market offers visitors a variety of locally grown produce from nearby farms and Arizona Food Producers. During the summer season, the market features more than 60 vendors, while in the fall and spring seasons, the market expands to feature more than 100 vendors, with food trucks, games and entertainment for the whole family. The year-round market is open every Saturday from 7 – 11 a.m. April through September and 8 – 11 a.m. October through March, with the exception of Saturday, Nov. 23, due to the Gilbert Days Parade.
Each November, residents look forward to Gilbert’s long-standing tradition of Gilbert Days. The town event celebrates all things Gilbert and hosts three main events, including the Gilbert Days Rodeo, Gilbert Half Marathan and 10K, and the annual Gilbert Days parade. The festival runs from November 22-24, with the parade on Saturday, Nov. 23, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Held in Gilbert’s popular Heritage District, in Downtown Gilbert, the event will also feature live music, street performers, kids activities, food trucks, artisan, craft vendors and much more.
Scheduled to open on Saturday, Sept. 21, Gilbert Regional Park has become one of the communities most anticipated projects. The grand opening will unveil the park’s first 30-acres, along with a few attractions, including a 17-square-foot playground, 4,000-square-foot splash pad and toddler playground. The entire park is expected to be complete summer 2020 and will feature Gilbert’s first water park, a 7-acre lake, event lawn; tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; and a bridge connecting the east and west portions of Ocotillo Road.
An epicenter of fun for everyone, FatCats Entertainment offers everything kids love all in one setting. With a dine-in movie theater featuring reclining seats, a 20-lane bowling alley, an arcade stocked with popular games and glow golf, the kids are sure to have the time of their lives. After your evening of fun-filled activities, indulge on some chicken tenders, pizza and chocolate brownie sundaes for a classic kid-friendly feast.
