When new homes are built with energy savings in mind, everyone wins. Our green-building story expanded in 2010, when we teamed with the EPA’s Energy Star® program to construct Arizona homes to the highest energy-efficient standards. In 2016, Salt River Project, one of Arizona’s largest utilities, recognized us with the Champions of Energy Efficiency Award for our long-standing relationship with the government-backed Energy Star® program. Energy Star®-certified homes – inspected, tested and verified by independent raters — are up to 30 percent more efficient than typical new homes, which means more green in your pocket and more green for the environment.
We are constantly seeking new ways to expand our green building practices. Our LEED® Certified homes (available in select neighborhoods) feature water-efficient fixtures, LED lighting, energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, Energy Star® appliances, Wi-Fi enabled, programmable thermostats and much more. They also meet the EPA’s Indoor airPLUS specifications, which improve indoor air quality, comfort and energy efficiency.
LEED® is the U.S. Green Building Council’s verification system that measures compliance across numerous areas of environmental sustainability. According to the USGBC, LEED® homes are designed to use 30 to 50 percent less energy than typical homes.
