Arizona Ranks as Top Places For RetirementPosted 04/17/2015
Great weather, affordable homes and a low crime rate were just a few of the reasons Arizona recently ranked as one of the top U.S. states for retirement, according to Bankrate.com. The Internet’s leading aggregator of financial rate information also analyzed each state’s health care quality, tax burden and “senior well-being,” a set of data that measured satisfaction and personal wellness among the 65+ population.
It’s not a surprise to those of us who live here that Arizona came in ninth overall, especially since our state offers so many opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. From hiking the Grand Canyon and skiing up north, to playing golf and lying by the pool year ‘round down south, this is the perfect place for active adults looking to get the most out of their encore years.
With these factors in mind, Maracay Homes recently entered the active-adult arena with the opening of its first ever 55+ active-adult community, Victory at Verrado. Located in Phoenix, Arizona’s beautiful West Valley, inside the award-winning master-planned community of Verrado, Victory at Verrado introduces an all-new collection of homes designed with the modern active adult in mind. The plans feature universal design elements conceptualized by the acclaimed architects at KTGY.
If you love our Victory homes, you’ll definitely love the lifestyle offered inside the Victory District. Residents ages 55+ have countless opportunities for socializing with other like-minded active adults while still staying connected to all the wonderful amenities available throughout Verrado. Exclusively inside the District, though, a host of amenities coming in 2015 and 2016 – including The Victory Club (opening in December 2015) with terraced resort pools and a new dining concept called The Vic, the country’s first Avid Trail System, with multipurpose paths and trails guaranteed to please everyone from casual walkers to hard-core mountain-bike enthusiasts (open now), and a Tom Lehman-designed golf course (opening in 2016) — will complete an all-inclusive community experience unlike any other in the Valley. Of course, all Verrado residents enjoy access to more than 60 parks, walking paths and hiking trails set against the rolling foothills of the White Tank Mountains.
