September Events

School is in full swing, temperatures are starting to dip and the outdoor season is starting with some events. Check out these events from all over Arizona for some family fun.

Every Tuesday
Marana Farmers Market, 3 – 6 p.m.
Stock up on fresh veggies and fruits each week at the farmers market at Marana Health Center.

Sunday, Sept. 1
Science Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Families, head to the Children’s Museum Tucson for scientific fun, hands-on activities, special guests from the Tucson science community and more. Admission to fun is $2 per person.

Monday, Sept. 2
Hot Yoga at Hotel Palomar
7-8 p.m.
Get your last fix of free rooftop yoga. Head to the rooftop pool at Hotel Palomar at Cityscape for the free flow class taught by a local instructor.

Friday, Sept. 6
Movie Night at the Goodyear Ballpark, 7 p.m.
Enjoy the feature movie of “Wreck-It Ralph” under the stars at Goodyear Ballpark. Bring the family for this free fun and enjoy the show!

Saturday, Sept. 7
9-11 Heroes Run, 8 a.m.
Run a 5k or one-mile fun run in Tempe in memory of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11. Registration for the 9-11 Heroes Run is $30 for 5k and $100 for a family of four.

Saturday, Sept. 7
Teddy Bear Day, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Celebrate National Teddy Bear Day with the city of Glendale. They will be hosting arts and crafts, special treats and exclusive deals in the historic downtown Glendale neighborhood.

Sunday, Sept. 8
9-11 Memorial Pancake Breakfast, 7:30 – 9:30 a.m.
Join the Goodyear Fire Station for a flag-raising ceremony, memorial service and breakfast in remembrance of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11. Donations will be accepted and benefit United Goodyear Firefighters Charities.

Thursdays, starting Sept. 12
Westgate Bike Night, 5 – 9 p.m.
Browse through rows of motorcycles while enjoying live music and specials from merchants at Westgate Entertainment District. Hundreds of bikes will line Coyotes Boulevard for hog-lovers.

Thursday, Sept. 19 – Saturday, Sept. 21 & Thursday, Sept. 26 – Saturday, Sept. 28
Ballet Under the Stars, 7 p.m.
Get outside to Beardsley Park to enjoy some Ballet Under the Stars. Complete with a stage, costumes and lightening, guests will be able to experience a one-of-a-kind performance in the beautiful weather.  

Friday, Sept. 20
Downtown Chandler Artwalk, 7 – 11 p.m.
Stroll through downtown Chandler perusing fine arts and crafts from many local artists and merchants. If you are looking for paintings, jewelry, glasswork or woodworking, this will be the place to be!

Friday, Sept. 20 & Saturday, Sept. 21
Glow 2013, 7 – 11 p.m.
Experience the full moon with this exciting nighttime event at Triangle L Ranch. The five-acre ranch will be filled with thousands of lights, art installations, performances, music and food. Dress up in glowing attires and enjoy the night.

Thursday, Sept. 26
Kenny Loggins Concert, 7:30 p.m.
Fans of the singer, songwriter and guitarist Kenny Loggins can head to Fox Tucson Theater for a night of music.

Friday, Sept. 27
Avondale Out & About – Back to School Movie Night, 6 – 9 p.m.
If you missed “Wreck-It Ralph” at Goodyear Ballpark, you get another chance at Avondale City Hall Amphitheater Lawn. The free event kicks off with a dance performance followed by the outdoor movie.

Saturday, Sept. 28
Trails 4 Trials, 6:30 a.m. 
Ride for a reason: cancer research. Join the cause at Cancer Treatment Center of America in Goodyear and ride 3, 25, 50 or 100 miles to benefit Gateway for Cancer Resaerch. Food, fun and live music to follow. 99 cents of every dollar received goes directly to fund lifesaving trials.

    Can you please let me know what is the price for the hot yoga class that will be in Sept. 2 (Hotel Palomar)?

      Hey Marcela – the yoga classes are free and open to the public, no reservation required. And as it turns out, they’ve just extended the classes all September long, every Monday from 7-8 pm next month. Have fun!
